Spring has a way of making everyone want to spend a little more time outdoors. The days become warmer, the landscape begins to change and suddenly a day surrounded by wildlife sounds like exactly where you want to be. At Lion & Safari Park, the new season brings plenty of reasons to gather the family, head outside and enjoy a safari adventure together.

Located within easy reach of Johannesburg and Pretoria, the park offers a refreshing change of scenery without having to plan a weekend away. A full day of wildlife, activities and good food can become one of those simple family outings that everyone remembers.

A safari is, of course, at the heart of the experience. Families can explore the park on a self-drive or leave the driving to us and join a guided game drive. Guided experiences give visitors the added benefit of having a knowledgeable guide along for the journey, sharing fascinating information about the animals, their behaviour and the environment around them.

Every safari brings its own moments of excitement. You may find yourself watching lions resting together, spotting antelope across the landscape or seeing a giraffe appear in the distance. Wildlife does not follow a script, and that is part of what makes every visit different.

One experience that always creates a memorable photo opportunity is giraffe feeding near our Wetlands Restaurant. There is plenty to keep younger family members entertained too. Pony rides are a lovely introduction for little adventurers, while horse riding offers older children and adults another way to experience the outdoors. Our dedicated kids\u2019 play areas also give children space to enjoy themselves after the excitement of the safari.<\/p>

When everyone is ready to slow things down, Wetlands Restaurant offers a relaxed place to enjoy a meal and spend a little more time together. It makes it easy to turn a safari into a full day out rather than rushing home once the drive is over.<\/p>

Spring is also an ideal time for teachers to start planning school excursions for the months ahead.
